# Summarize today

Summarize today is a once-a-day rollup of everything Pi noticed across the customers you own. Phase moves, task completions, new comments, fresh risk flags, contact replies that came in overnight. It runs at 7 a.m. in your local timezone and arrives two places at once: your inbox and the Pi summary widget pinned to your Workbench.

## What's in it

A typical digest has four sections, each suppressed if it has nothing to report.

1. **Phase moves.** Customers that crossed into a new phase since the last digest, with who moved them and when.
2. **Task completions.** Customer-facing tasks marked done by the customer, and internal tasks completed by your team.
3. **New risk flags.** Customers Pi added to the risk lane in the last 24 hours, with the signal that triggered it.
4. **Replies and comments.** New thread activity on customers you own, deduped to one entry per customer.

Each line is a deep link. Click it and Pivotal opens the source record with the relevant tab in focus.

## Turn the email on or off

The Workbench widget is always on. The email is opt-out.

1. Open **Account > Pi preferences**.
2. Scroll to the **Notifications** section.
3. Toggle **Email me my daily summary** off.

The widget keeps working. You'll see the same rollup the email would have sent.

## Edit the cutoff and timezone

The default cutoff is midnight in your account timezone, so the digest covers the previous calendar day. To shift it (for example, to a 6 p.m. cutoff because your customers are in APAC), open **Account > Pi preferences > Daily summary** and set **Cutoff time**. The next digest uses the new value.

## What it doesn't include

* Customers you don't own (filter by the **All my customers** view on the Workbench to widen the scope).
* Activity older than the cutoff. The digest is incremental, not a backlog.
* Archived customers.
* Pi prompt history.

## Gotcha: empty digests on Monday

If your weekend was quiet, the Monday digest can look thin because the cutoff is still 24 hours. To get a Friday-through-Sunday rollup on Monday, set **Weekend rollup** to **On** in the same preferences panel. Pi extends the cutoff to 72 hours for the Monday-morning send only.

## Where it lives in the app

* **Workbench > Pi summary** widget (top of the dashboard by default; drag to reorder).
* Email to your account address, sender `pi@pivotal.app`.
