Branding controls what your customers see in the portal, in transactional emails Pivotal sends on your behalf, and on the browser tab favicon. Everything lives under Admin > Branding.
Two uploads: light-mode logo and dark-mode logo. Pivotal swaps based on the customer’s portal theme preference. Render height is capped at 32px in the portal header and 40px in email. Upload at 2x or use SVG. PNG with transparent background works; JPG flattens the background to white and looks wrong in dark mode.
Square crops up to 512x512 work for the favicon. If you skip the favicon upload, Pivotal generates one by taking a square center crop of the light logo.
The brand color paints three surfaces:
The color does not change anything in your team’s view of the app. Your CSMs see Pivotal’s default theme regardless.
If your logo has enough contrast against both a white and a dark grey background, upload the same file twice. Most wordmarks need two versions: one in your brand color or black for light mode, one in white or a lighter brand-color tint for dark mode. Test by toggling Preview > Dark on the Branding page.
Yes. Each customer’s portal user picks light, dark, or system in their profile. The default is system. You can force a default for everyone in your workspace under Admin > Portal > Default theme, but you can’t disable the per-user choice.
Emails embed the logo URL at send time. Past sends keep showing the old logo because the image is cached in mailbox renderers. New sends pick up the new logo within a minute of saving.
The footer line is removable on the Pro plan. Toggle Admin > Branding > White-label footer off. On Solo and Team it stays on. See plans and seats for the upgrade path.
Email help@pivotal.app with a screenshot of where you got stuck and the customer or onboarding id from the URL.
